As a student therapist, I strive to centre empathy, curiosity, and open-mindedness in my practice (and in my life!). I’ve worked in the non-profit sector to support homeless and street-involved youth, and I am committed to advocating for similarly vulnerable groups. Through this work experience, I’ve been trained to work from a trauma-informed and harm reduction-centric perspective.
I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour from McMaster University, completed a post-graduate certificate in Concurrent Disorders from Mohawk College, and returned to McMaster, where I am currently working on my Master of Science in Psychotherapy.
I’m a Hamiltonian, born and raised, and a child of immigrants. As such, I’m passionate about integrating cultural and societal factors into therapy, taking diverse perspectives into account. I believe that no therapeutic approach is a one-size-fits-all!
Areas of Interest:
From my education and work experience, I have a specific interest in working with trauma, addiction and substance use, and with adolescents and young adults.
